Basically, everything works the same with them. If you want a slightly more intelligent enemy, select npc_metropolice. If you want a zombie map, select npc_zombie, place him wherever you please, and you are done. There will be a list of weapons to choose from, so choose what you want.īarney is complete. Select Barney1 again and go to the Class Info tab. He has no weapon to protect himself, and we certainly aren't gonna do it. Select actor(s) to affect and type "Barney1" without the quotes. Now, if we were to compile our map and play it now, we would find Barney just standing around because he doesn't no where to go. So select the entity tool once more, and place someone like npc_barney in your map. Valve made it so that only the allies in Half Life 2 can be allies in our maps. You can't select just anyone, unfortunately. Now you must select the character you want to follow you. (This is the entity that will cause the NPC to follow you.)Ģ. Preferably by where you want to spawn your allies. After you have your map completed with corners and crevices for enemies to pop out from, select the entity tool and place an ai_goal_follow entity anywhere on your map. Making allies is pretty simple, but if you really want them to make a difference, you'll need them to follow you and fight alongside you.ġ.
